According to the interwebs, American rapper and business man Jay Z [aka Sean Carter] is working with Will and Jada Smith on producing a remake of the musical "Annie."
The musical, which was released in 1977, is set in the 1930's and is about a young orphan girl [Annie] who dreams of a family that will take her. It also deals with time specific material such as Franklin Roosevelt's time in office as the President of the United States, and the Great Depression Era.
All of these things can easily be updated and given a 2010's decade face lift. But my only concern is what is going to happen with the music. I know that Jay Z is capable, but we all have our muff ups. And remaking something, especially when music is concerned, can be muff'ed up very easily......
Isn't that right, Beyonce.......
