The Last Story: Battle Theme

From Mistwalker's upcoming release "The Last Story" which is very much so a shout out to the "Final Fantasy" series.  Nobuo Uematsu [formerly employed by Square-Enix] gives us this piece of work.  I can't help it, but I hear a lot of Metal Gear Solid in this battle theme.  What do you think?

Uematsu, as we all know, has a great ability to create memorable themes.  He's a master at shaping melody, and his use of harmony is a style all his own.  You know Uematsu when you hear Uematsu.  But this... it seems like he's going for a new sound with Mistwalker's "The Last Story."  I wish them all the best.  Can they make lightning strike in the same place twice?
